Le trois-mâts carré • Das Vollschiff
The full-rigged ship is a jig from Shetland. It is sometimes played with equal quavers but our version takes a slower tempo with a lilting dotted rhythm. A ‘full-rigged ship’ was a large three-masted vessel carrying square sails.
Cette gigue des Îles Shetland est parfois jouée avec des croches égales mais notre version adopte un tempo plus lent et un balancement de rythme pointé. Un « trois-mâts carré » était un grand vaisseau trois mâts aux voiles carrées.
Das Vollschiff ist ein Jig von den Shetland-Inseln. Manchmal wird er mit gleichmäßigen Achtelnoten gespielt, aber unsere Fassung zieht ein langsameres Tempo mit einem wiegenden punktierten Rhythmus vor. Ein „Vollschiff“ war ein großes Segelboot mit drei vollständig rahgetakelten Masten.
